About
With a master’s degree in immunology and vaccinology, Wilfried holds also a master’s degree in biotechnology and law. Wilfried employs a blend of skills in legal, IP, business development, licensing and strategy to accelerate growth in multiple areas such as infectious diseases, oncology, I&I, neuromuscular and metabolic disorders. He has worked for startup biotech through large global biopharmaceutical and tech-bio organizations.
Wilfried began his career in legal, IP, and business development, before transitioning to global business development, business unit leadership, strategic planning, and corporate development. This diverse experience allows him to see the big picture, identify opportunities, and drive growth.
He has participated in various strategic changes in life science companies, including M&A, licensing, spin-offs, and business model transformations.
Wilfried joined Vivalis SA, a small-cap company, in 2010 which had an annual revenue of around €5M at the time. This company merged with Intercell AG to form Valneva SE. Over the next 10 years, Wilfried held the position of Global Head of Business Development for one of their business units and played a role in the company's growth, which reached nearly €150M in annual revenue before he left for Merck.
